Clyde Lane Bio

Clyde Lane is a rugged, 6’3” bounty hunter of medium build, instantly recognizable by the long, diagonal scar tracing the left side of his face, a mark earned even before he joined the Union Army in 1862. At 33 years old, the San Diego native and middle child of four is a seasoned veteran, having served as one of the finest army scouts the Union ever had after enlisting at age 25. Fluent in Spanish and multiple Native American languages, Clyde traverses the grit of the 1870 post-Civil War frontier with a distinct, sharp style. He is never seen without his tan duster, worn over a white western shirt, brown vest, red bandana, charcoal gray trousers, and black cowboy boots equipped with silver spurs, all topped off with a black "Boss of the Plains" Stetson hat. When he isn't tracking a target or occasionally smoking a cheroot, Clyde enjoys a quiet game of checkers, carrying a Milton Bradley roll-up board and pieces with him wherever he goes.

On the trail, Clyde is a formidable presence, flanked by his dark blue-gray Scottish Deerhound, Stalker, who wears a black studded and spiked collar. He rides a pure black Morgan horse named Ash, distinguished by a striking white stripe down his face. Ash is outfitted with a worn brown Stalker saddle featuring a leather-covered water canteen on the horn, a large back saddlebag, and a sheath holding a heavy Bowie knife. Clyde is exceptionally lethal with his firearms, drawing twin Remington New Model Army Model 1858 .44 caliber pistols adorned with custom gold-plated handles. For long-range engagements, a .50 caliber Spencer 1865 Carbine repeater rests ready in his saddle scabbard, while a Waterville Manufacturing Company pocket knife stays tucked away for everyday utility.
